Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has urged the 25 local government council chairmen to reconcile aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with other party members in order to strengthen the party in the state.

The governor emphasised the need to bolster the party to ensure the thriving of democracy in the state.

Bago stated this while playing host to the 25 local government chairmen at the Government House, Minna.

During a congratulatory visit by the 25 local government chairmen at the Government House in Minna, Governor Bello highlighted the importance of reaching out to those who left the party due to dissatisfaction, emphasizing the need for reconciliation.

He noted, “There is a need for the party to make a deliberate attempt to reach out to those who left in the spirit of reconciliation. We must look for those people who fled because of dissatisfaction.”

“As a party, we must strengthen the party institution to ensure the progress of democracy. In doing so, we will ensure that the party receives its due and also gathers feedback from the general public,” Governor Bello stated.

Governor Bago expressed his gratitude to the council leaders for their support during the gubernatorial elections, which ultimately led to his emergence as the state governor.

In response, the State APC Deputy Chairman, Abdulsalam Madaki, conveyed the local government chairmen’s visit as a gesture to congratulate the governor and reaffirm their loyalty to ensure the success of his administration.
