The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.
When you are able to shift your inner awareness to how you can serve others, and when you make this the central focus of your life, you will then be in a position to know true miracles in your progress toward prosperity.
Those who are happiest are those who do the most for .True leaders understand that leadership is not about them but about those they serve. It is not about exalting themselves but about lifting others up. If you were born with the ability to change someone’s perspective or emotions, never waste that gift. It is one of the most powerful gifts God can give—the ability to influence. People of excellence go the extra mile to do what’s right. You have to lift a person up before you can really put them in their place. Service which is rendered without joy helps neither the servant nor the served. But all other pleasures and possessions pale into nothingness before service which is rendered in a spirit of joy. All of your customers are partners in your mission. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others? Our rewards in life will always be in direct ratio to our service.

He profits most who serves best. Do your little bit of good where you are; its those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. Earn your success based on service to others, not at the expense of others. Do some selfless service for people who are in need. Consider the whole picture, not just our little selves. There is incredible value in being of service to others.
Don’t feel bad if people remember you only when they need you. Feel privileged that you are like a candle that comes to their mind when there is darkness. As we lose ourselves in the service of others we discover our own lives and our own happiness. Help the life of one person and you can help the community.
This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.
Without service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.
If you light a lamp for someone else it will also brighten your path.
To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measures with money. The best antidote I know for worry is work. The best cure for weariness is the challenge of helping someone who is even more tired. One of the great ironies of life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more than he or she who is served. You have two hands. One to help yourself, the second to help others. So long as we love we serve; so long as we are loved by others, I would almost say that we are indispensable; and no man is useless while he has a friend.
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. Love in action is service to the world. I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy. Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
You can have everything you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want in life.
One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. If you really want to receive joy and happiness, then serve others with all your heart. Lift their burden, and your own burden will be lighter. A change is brought about because ordinary people do extraordinary things.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.I want to be remembered as a great friend, an outstanding father, an amazing husband, and a good soul who always strived to serve God and man. And during that time of service on earth, I would like people to think, He brought joy, love, opportunity, and fulfillment to millions of people.
