Former England defender and football pundit Micah Richards has identified AC Milan forward Rafael Leao as the marquee signing he believes could elevate Arsenal to a new level ahead of the upcoming season.
Speaking while discussing Arsenal’s transfer priorities, Richards reportedly suggested that Leao possesses the pace, creativity, physicality, and attacking flair needed to transform Mikel Arteta’s frontline and help the Gunners bridge the gap between domestic success and major silverware.
Leao, who has been valued at around £130 million in recent transfer speculation, remains one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers following several standout seasons with AC Milan and the Portuguese national team.
Richards argued that Arsenal already possess a strong defensive structure and a competitive midfield but could benefit from adding a world-class game-changer capable of deciding matches against elite opposition.
The former Manchester City defender believes Leao’s direct style, dribbling ability, and eye for goal would provide Arsenal with an additional attacking dimension as they continue their pursuit of Premier League and European success.
Despite the speculation, any potential move would likely depend on Arsenal’s willingness to meet AC Milan’s valuation and the player’s own future plans in Italy.
Arsenal are expected to remain active in the summer transfer market as Arteta seeks to strengthen his squad ahead of another title challenge.
