Cristiano Ronaldo has on Tuesday wished Manchester United well as he takes his leave from the club.
According to Premiere League, Ronaldo feels like it is the right time to seek new challenge.
In a post on its verified Instagram page, Premier League quoted Ronaldo to have said, “I love Manchester Utd and I love the fans, that will never change. It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge. I wish Manchester Utd all the best,” with the league calling it ‘ christiano’s farewell message to manchesterunited.’
Man United had on Tuesday announced that Ronaldo would leave the club by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
The club, however, thanked the Portuguese for his contribution during the two spells which saw him score 145 goals in 346 appearances.
This was disclosed in a statement on the club’s official website on Tuesday.
The statement read in part, “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
