Popular Nigerian actress, Lilian Afegbai fumes as she was charged the sum of twenty two thousand naira to loose her cornrows at a salon in Lekki.
Recounting the incident, the actress said she had just finished from a movie shoot and was asked to come with her natural hair for a shoot on another set.
She quickly rushed to a nearby salon in Lekki to loosen her cornrows and wash her hair, expecting that the whole hair procedure will cost her about 8k or 10k, which she can instantly pay with cash.
Lilian said she was shocked when the hair stylist handed her a bill of 22,000 naira for loosing and washing her hair. Styling of hair on the island is about paying for VAT and beautiful building; sometimes they pay close to 60k for hair styling, she explained.
She expressed her disapproval with the outrageous cost of hair styling in Lekki as she issue a warning against unnecessary price inflation.
Following the Lilian’s outburst her colleagues and fans have flooded the comment section sharing their experience and also comparing the charges on the island to mainland.
