Ahead of the January 2024 local government election in Borno State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced sales of Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for chairmanship and councillorship elections.
A statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Malam Makinta Zarami, said the sales which commenced on Sept. 20, would end on Sept. 28.
“Interested party members are advised to obtain the form within the stipulated time as there will be no room for an extension,” Zarami said.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN recalls that the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) had on Aug. 2 released a time table for the council election.
According to the election time table by BOSIEC, parties are to submit a list of nominated candidates on Oct. 16 for screening and final display of cleared candidates on Nov. 19.
Election campaign by parties is to commence from Nov. 28 to Jan. 18, 2024, and the election is scheduled for Jan. 20.
