The Chairperson, Caretaker Management Committee, Fika Local Government of Yobe State, Hajia Halima Kyari Joda has led in the demolition of 39 local brothels and joints in Ngalda community.
The demolished local brothels and joints consist of 140 rooms.
The demolition, according to Mrs Joda, became imperative in view of the fact that the local brothels have become hiding places for suspected criminals, as well as a platform for promoting child prostitution and drug dealing.
She said it was also part of an effort to sanitize the community by getting rid of criminal elements who patronise the place.
Recall that, last month, the Chairperson had led security operatives in arresting 92 persons involved in operating the local brothels and joints.
During the operation, 22 cartons of liquor were also destroyed.
