This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluyinka Olumide, during a scoping workshop on Wednesday, marking the commencement of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, ESIA, and Resettlement Policy Framework processes for the project.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority , LAMATA, also shared the development via a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that the full alignment of the route has been unveiled.

“The Honorable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, informed that the government planned to complete the entire project rather than in phases,” the statement read.

This approach contrasts with previous metro projects in the state, such as the Blue Line and Red Line, which were delivered in phases with commercial operations commencing after the completion of their respective Phase 1 segments.

At the workshop, LAMATA outlined key components of the ESIA process and revealed the 68km alignment of the Green Line, although specific route details were not made public.

Olumide further advised property owners along the proposed corridor to regularize their building approval documents, warning that failure to do so may attract consequences.
