Lagbaja: IGP orders police personnel to wear black bands for seven days to mourn COAS

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to wear black bands for seven days to mourn the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

Newspot reports that the presidency on Wednesday confirmed Lagbaja dead after battling undisclosed ailment.

President Bola Tinubu subsequently directed that National Flags be flown at half mast throughout the country for seven days in honour of the late COAS.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi the IGP said all police officers would be wearing black bands for the seven days mourning period.
