The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has hailed the Appeal Court judgment in favor of Emir Sanusi as a victory for justice on the Kano throne.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the spokesperson for the Speaker.
Falgore emphasized that the Appeal Court’s decision marks the resolution of a protracted legal battle that sought to sow discord and undermine the dignity of the Kano Emirate.
The judgment, which dismissed the fundamental human rights case filed by Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, underscores the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to justice for all.
Falgore further noted that the ruling reinforces the legal framework governing the Kano State Emirate Council, affirming its autonomy in managing Chieftaincy Affairs.
The case has been referred to the Chief Judge of the Kano State High Court for further hearing and final judgment.
Previously, the Kano State High Court issued an order restraining Aminu Ado Bayero and four other former emirs from claiming the Emirship position.
