The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has dismissed a viral video circulating online, stating that it has no connection to the content and describing the claims contained in it as entirely false.

In a press release issued on Monday, the Commission said the video—allegedly linked to its operations—was fabricated and designed to mislead the public. It added that some elements of the video, including images and identities, appear to have been generated using artificial intelligence.

The ICPC clarified that it has not issued any report or statement supporting the allegations contained in the video, including claims of a ₦50 billion bribe involving legal practitioners or judicial officers.

According to the Commission, there is no ongoing investigation involving any Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), group of lawyers, or judicial official in relation to the claims made in the video. It stressed that no such case or transaction exists in its records.

The anti-corruption agency reaffirmed its commitment to conducting investigations based strictly on credible evidence and in accordance with the law.

It also warned individuals or groups responsible for creating and circulating the video to desist immediately, stating that it would not tolerate the misuse of its name to spread disinformation.

The Commission added that those found responsible for originating or amplifying the false content would face legal consequences, noting that it is prepared to apply the full weight of the law against offenders.

The ICPC advised members of the public to rely only on its official communication channels for verified information.
