A member of the House of Representatives and senatorial candidate of Accord Party for Oyo North in the 2023 elections, Shina Peller, has pledged to liberate the people of the constituency from what he described as too much oppression they are currently facing from a few people.
He said, “We are on a rescue mission, we want to liberate our people from continuous domination from a few people. Oke Ogun has ten local governments, while Ogbomoso with three local governments has been dominating us for a long.”
Peller made this known in his hometown, Iseyin while doling out cash gifts to the aged and widows within the constituency to assist them to obtain the necessities of life during this festive period.
He continued, “I am leading a liberation mission for the people of Oke Ogun who believe it’s our turn to have a representative at the Red Chamber in the National Assembly. We cannot continue to be using ten local governments to serve three, therefore, it’s our turn in Oke Ogun to be well represented at the Senate from 2023.”
Speaking on cash palliatives to the aged and widows, the legislator said, “I believe so much in giving back to the people, I believe so much in empowering my people most especially at a time they needed it. The happier you make your people, the closer you are to them.”
Peller, who represents Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency, said he decided to empower the majority of his followers, not only in four local governments he currently represents but all the 13 local governments that made up Oyo North senatorial district, where he will be contesting under Accord Party in this year.
“This cash empowerment is for the aged and widows, and this is not the first time, we did it during the Covid-19. I know some politicians will rather be keeping their money to buy votes but I will prefer to do it now. It is better to do it now when they needed it, to alleviate poverty and to support them.”
