The Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Hon. Inibehe Umah, has led members of the Executive Council on an inspection of the ongoing 1.5-kilometre Secretariat Road project, which is now in its final stage ahead of commissioning.

During the inspection on Monday, June 8, 2026, Hon. Umah expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the project, emphasizing that the road will significantly enhance accessibility to the Council Secretariat, facilitating unhindered movement for staff, visitors, and residents.

He commended the contractor for adhering to specifications and delivering quality workmanship and urged the team to maintain standards to ensure all finishing touches are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The road, which also serves as a by-pass linking Odoro Ikpe-Ibam Edet-Mbiabet Ikpe road with Ikot Ekpene-Itu Mbonuso road, features culverts and drainage channels on both sides, and is part of broader initiatives by the Ini Local Government Administration to improve infrastructure, service delivery, and grassroots development.

Members of the Executive Council present included Vice Chairman Hon. Veronica Edidiong Bassey, Secretary of Council Hon. Ubong Mkpa, and supervising officials, all of whom praised the administration’s commitment to durable infrastructure.

The Secretariat Road is expected to be commissioned soon and is projected to improve mobility, operational efficiency, and the aesthetic appeal of the Council headquarters.
