Sensational Nigerian chef and restauranteur, Hilda Baci, has revealed in great detail the strained relationship she had with her father and how he disowned her.
In a recent interview on the Tea with Tay podcast, the Guinness World Record holder disclosed that her only grievance with her father, Effiong Bassey Edem, was his abrupt disappearance from her life.
According to her, her father was present in her and her siblings’ lives for years but when a heated argument ensued between him and their mother, things took a negative turn.
She explained that her father’s sudden departure truly affected her, especially because she and her elder brother were set to graduate from university.
After supporting their academic journey through nursery, high school, and the initial years of their university education, Hilda asserted that she couldn’t understand why her father had quit sponsoring their education.
Hilda recalled a painful day when she spoke with her father about school-related matters. However, she received a rude shock when he answered the phone and essentially played the “I’m not your dad” card, disowning her on the phone.
