In an unprecedented move to champion academic excellence, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced the launch of the “Imole Statewide Public and Private Schools Students SSCE Scholarship.” This initiative is aimed at rewarding the highest-performing students in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) throughout the state.
Backed by the Electronic Collections Group (ECG), the scholarship program is set to honor exceptional students from both public and private educational institutions across all 30 local government areas and the area office of Osun State.
According to a statement from Hon. Dipo Eluwole, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, the initiative will present a ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira) scholarship to the overall best student in the state. Each local government area will also recognize the top student from both public and private schools, who will each receive a scholarship award of ₦100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira).
In addition to individual student awards, the initiative will allocate a ₦500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) educational support fund to the best-performing public and private schools, aimed at enhancing their academic programs. Recognizing the pivotal role of educators, teachers of the top students in each local government area will also receive exciting gift items as part of the initiative.
Hon. Eluwole emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our government is committed to improving education standards and fostering intellectual growth among Osun students. I urge teachers and school administrators to prepare their students adequately for the 2025 WAEC SSCE, ensuring they perform exceptionally well to qualify for the scholarship awards.”
The winners of the scholarship will be formally announced following the release of the SSCE results, marking a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of academic leaders in Osun State.
