Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has affirmed the paramount importance of the security and welfare of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members serving in the state.
The assurance came on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II orientation course at Sibre in Ardo-kola local government council of the state.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Joseph Joshua, he emphasized that his administration prioritizes the safety and well-being of corps members during their stay in Taraba.
Addressing the role of education, he disclosed the state’s commitment to free and compulsory primary and secondary school education, underscoring the significance of quality education for the youth.
He called on corps members to contribute to the state’s educational goals, recognizing their vital role in achieving this objective.
Governor Agbu stated, “It is, therefore, our understanding that Corps members have a vital role to play in the actualization of this goal.
Adding that “we have put in place measures to ensure that your welfare is greatly augmented by the state government. We would equally prioritize your security at all times.”
