Newspot recalls that the protest, which took place on 11 March 2025, was in response to the tragic killing of three youths in Tsambe-Mmbesev Ward.

The protesters set fire to and looted the palace of the Ter Tyoshin/Nagi, HRH Daniel Abomtse and the Local Government Secretariat.

The house of Felix Atume, the former Registrar of COREN, was also among the properties looted and destroyed during the protest.
