Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has seemingly reacted to reports that Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, has filed for divorce.
It was earlier reported that May Edochie and her legal representative allegedly went to court on Monday, July 10, to file a petition to end her 18-year-long marriage to her husband, Yul. (Read here)
May and Yul have been at odds since he publicly announced his marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin, in April 2022, and welcomed a child with her.
At the time, May strongly disagreed with Yul’s decision to enter into a polygamous marriage, emphasizing that no one should be forced to accept it.
She acknowledged that certain religions and traditions permit polygamy, and while she respects those beliefs, she personally refuses to conform to a practice that contradicts her own faith and family values.
In an apparent reaction to reports that May was prepared to end her marriage to Yul, Rita Edochie, who is married to Yul’s uncle, took to her Instagram page to pray for her.
She reminisced about how the family used to be a peaceful unit of six, living happily before everything changed.
Rita Edochie prayed that God would protect May and her children, while noting that God knows what is best.
“They were six in this peaceful home father, mother and four lovely children enjoying their peacefully. Today, they are now four in the same home. God, please surround and protect the home both their going out and coming back. God almighty you know the best and your best is always the best. @mayyuledochie,” she wrote.
