After over a decade of political struggle, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Taraba State is celebrating what it calls a divine breakthrough following moves bf Governor Agbu Kefas to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the party.
Speaking with journalists during the weekend, the Taraba APC Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim El-Suldi, described the development as the fulfillment of a long awaited dream.
“After 13 years of waiting, God has given us the Taraba Government House. What we have prayed and worked for has now come to pass, not through the ballot, but through divine intervention,” El-Sudi said.
El-Suldi confirmed that the governor’s move to the APC is no longer a rumor but a finalized political realignment sealed by President Bola Tinubu and officially handed over to the party’s national leadership.
According to him, all party stakeholders in Taraba will formally ratify Kefas’ defection on November 4, 2025, at a grand event in Jalingo, the state capital.
For the Taraba APC, the news marks the end of years of political marginalization and the beginning of a new chapter.
“This is not just a political shift,” El-Suldi added, “it’s a testimony that patience, unity, and faith truly pay off”.
With the state government now under APC control, party loyalists, according to an APC chieftain, are expected to converge on Jalingo for celebrations and to witness what many are calling a historic moment in Taraba’s political journey.
