Gary Neville slammed David Raya for his error which gifted Chelsea their second goal against Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Already trailing to Cole Palmer’s first half penalty, the Gunners task of overturning the deficit was rendered doubly difficult when Raya allowed Mykhailo’s miscued cross to drift over his head.

It was a moment for Mudryk to savour given the difficult start to his Chelsea career, but in truth he was gifted his first Stamford Bridge goal by Raya’s errant positioning.

‘His position Raya is not good enough he’s far too far forward that is not good from the Arsenal goalkeeper and that should not end up in the back of the net,’ Neville told Sky Sports.

‘It’s meant as a cross for Raheem Sterling from Mudryk he doesn’t mean to chip him but the fact he can chip him isn’t right.

‘He’s too far forward there’s no doubt about that. He’s probably a yard too far off his line. He’s beyond the near post it just isn’t right.

‘Why he’s there you’ll have to ask him.’

Raya nearly gifted Chelsea a third and Palmer a second when the England Under-21 internationalintercepted the Arsenal goalkeeper’s wayward pass but he was unable to turn the ball into the net from a tight angle.

‘Look he worried me in the first half against city,’ Neville added.

‘He’s struggling in this period in the game he knows that goal is on him. His mistake management isn’t quite there yet.

‘It’s a pressure job goalkeeping at top clubs in the country and he’s finding that out.’
