A fire outbreak has gutted the Mainland Oil/Gas Station along the Kubwa Expressway in Abuja.
The incident began at approximately 5:10 PM on Thursday at the filling station located beside Dutse Suites and Luxury Hotel.
Emergency response teams from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service, and the Nigeria Police Force arrived at the scene around 5:30 pm to combat the blaze.
However, The Whistler reports that the firefighters quickly ran out of water and had to leave the scene, leaving the fire still raging. It was not immediately clear whether they called for reinforcement.
A petrol tanker that was offloading petrol at the time the fire started was completely burnt down.
The extent of the damage and any potential casualties are yet to be determined as the situation continues to develop.
