A fire outbreak in the early hours of Wednesday destroyed property worth about N22.4 million in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The fire incident occurred at approximately 01:30 hours at Tanke -Oke Odo, along University of Ilorin Road, in the Ilorin South Local Government Area of the state.
This is coming barely hours after another fire outbreak within the Tanke area, at Zion Overcomer, opposite Suleiman Durosyloun House.
According to the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, “Upon arrival, our firefighters effectively extinguished the fire that engulfed 16 metal kiosks and affected seven shops.”
He attributed the fire incident to a power surge.
Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, has urged the general public to be safety conscious.
