Dr Ebong, a staff member of Wuse District Hospital, is expected to serve as president for the next 24 months.

In his remarks, Ebong vowed to prioritise doctors’ welfare, lamenting that doctors in the FCT have become an endangered species.

According to him, his administration would work to resolve the challenges resident doctors face in Abuja.

“We are an endangered species, just as the American bald eagle, the Chinese panda bear, and the Russian Siberian tiger have become endangered. The medical profession has become endangered.”

“Now is the time to change the course of this conversation. Now is the time to adopt a whole new approach. Now is the time to act—not because we love it, but because it is the only voice for those who are unheard,” he stated.

In his remarks, the outgoing president of ARD, FCT, Dr. Olayinka Rahmah, lauded members for their support throughout his administration.
