Shekarau said the recent EndBadGovernance protest was a clear message to Tinubu and those working under him.

Newspot recalls that a 10-day nationwide protest tagged EndBadGovernance started on 1st through 10th August, 2024.

Nigerians took to the streets of various cities across the country to demand economic and political reforms.

They called for the reversal of some government policies, such as the petrol subsidy removal and the floating of the naira.

Despite that the protest did little or nothing to twist the arm of the government, the former governor feels the message to the Tinubu administration was clear enough.

The protests initially began peacefully but later turned violent in some states like Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto, leading to deaths and destruction of property.

Shekarau said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, “The last protests on the end of bad governance is a clear message. The agitation was not a regional, state affair. It was a national matter. I think it’s a very clear message to the President and the Federal Government.

“Nigerians are saying ‘please go back to the drawing board and reassess what you are giving us’”.
