Ekiti: Oyebanji appoints Olojudo new Traditional Council Chair

The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the State, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The appointment, according to a statement by the Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, on Monday, will run for a two- year period beginning from August 1, 2023, to August 1, 2025.

This appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the Onisan of Isan- Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, who presided over the council for two years.

The statement revealed that Oba Adejuwon, who succeeded Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi, presided over the council between July 28, 2021 and July 28, 2023.

The government appreciated the traditional ruler’s prayers, support and immeasurable contributions to the uplift of Ekiti in all spheres.

The statement said: “The government congratulates the council members on this feat, and pray for a successful tenure for the new leadership.

“The government appreciates the traditional rulers for their solid support for the outgone chairman, while also pleading that similar gestures should be extended to the new one”.
