Death toll has risen to 22 persons in the worsening flood disaster across Jigawa State.
Newspot earlier reported that no fewer than 16 people lost their lives, while 3,834 others were displaced as a result of flooding in the state.
Six more persons died in a building collapse due to heavy rains in Kirikasamma Local Government in Jigawa State
Information officer of Kirikasamma local governments, Alhaji Musa Muhammad, disclosed this to Newspot via telephone interview.
He stated that the incident happened at Gamji village in Tarabu ward of Kirikasamma local Government where four sons of Malam Yahaya died after their room collapsed at midnight while sleeping.
Also, in Fandin village two more persons were reported dead as a result of the heavy rain that led to the collapse of their houses.
Village head of Fandin, Malam Umar Yakubu Mukaddas, confirmed the incident.
