Kewulere, who is the Grand Imam of Ekiti, made the call in Ado-Ekiti, while speaking with newsmen on the 2023 general elections.

He expressed the need for the South-West to be peaceful in their approach to all election matters, and ensure they voted for credible leaders.

Kewulere urged Yoruba indigenes to form a common front before, during and after the elections, to ensure that those that will give preference to the needs of the zone, emerged as leaders of the country.

He appealed to Yoruba leaders to give preference to general interest, rather than selfish one, and called on religious leaders not to relent in their prayers for the nation.

The Islamic cleric expressed dissatisfaction with the state of insecurity affecting the socio economic growth of the nation, and called for proactive measures to solve it.

According to him, most Nigerians now find it difficult to sleep, with their two eyes closed.

Kewulere also used the opportunity to call on the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji,  to ensure that he fulfilled all his electioneering promises to the people of the state.

He appreciated the governor so far for giving Muslims preference in his administration, by appointing Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, a female Muslim leader, as the Secretary to the State Government.
