Premier League trio Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are plotting to hijack a move for Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister, who is keen to join Juventus.

Mac Allister has just enjoyed a fantastic World Cup with Argentina in Qatar, helping his nation become champions for the third time in their history.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined Brighton in 2019 from Argentine club Argentinos Juniors, has impressed during his time on the south coast, helping the Seagulls to a ninth-placed Premier League finish last term under Graham Potter.

Mac Allister is under contract until 2025 but has been linked with a big money move in January – and despite interest from Potter’s new club Chelsea as well as Arsenal and Liverpool – Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus are in pole position to land his signature and that a transfer could be imminent.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool remain interesting in signing him, though, and the player’s father has told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato that Mac Allister will weigh up all of his options before making a final decision.

‘I can only say that together with the club we will analyse the offers we will receive and then we will decide what will happen with Alexis’ future,’ he said.

‘He is doing very well in England and is grateful to Brighton as they gave him the chance to come to Europe. However, neither can we provide a price nor can we say who called us.

‘We don’t want to give any information that could prejudice imminent negotiations if any.’

Meanwhile, former Gunner Emmanuel Petit has urged league leaders Arsenal to prioritise a move for Mac Allister.

‘Mac Allister, I said this last season before he won the World Cup, he is a guy that does everything in the midfield,’ the Frenchman told Mega Casino. ‘He sets the tempo, carries the ball. Technically, he is very good. He scores goals.’
