Can HIV be transmitted through drinks?

A video recently surfaced online of a yet-to-be identified woman living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, who confessed to adding drops of her blood into the local drinks she sells in order to infect other people.

In her words, the woman said she’s doing what she did so that “She will not die alone.”

This video has generated a lot of reactions and left many wondering if the virus can be transmitted through drinks? Well the answer is no.

In this video, our correspondent spoke to the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, Ogun State chapter, Dr. Kunle Ashimi, who revealed that “HIV cannot survive outside of the human body.”
