Zahra Buhari-Indimi and Hanan, daughters of the embattled First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Aisha Buhari, were among the high-profile members of the All Progressives Congress women campaign team that attended the North-West zonal rally in Katsina State.

The duo was joined by the Chairman of the campaign train, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; wife of the APC vice presidential candidate, Hajiya Nana; Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed and wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu as well the first ladies of Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Zamfara and Lagos states.

This was contained in a statement issued by the media handler of the campaign team on Thursday.

Despite the rally being held in her husband’s home state, Aisha, who is the grand patron of the APC women campaign team, was conspicuously missing.

The embattled First Lady was in the news lately for detailing security operatives to arrest and detain a student of the Federal University, Dutse, Aminu Mohammed, for allegedly cyber stalking her.

Speaking at the venue of the campaign in Katsina, People’s Square, Tinubu’s wife charged the women and youths who trooped out for the rally to vote for the party’s candidates at the poll next year.

According to her, the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, would continue with the legacy of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and bring about the needed change to stir the country to greatness.

She said, “You are our partners in progress. We need to work together to ensure that the needs of Nigerians are prioritised if Tinubu and Shettima are elected.”

There was a loud ovation when Buhari’s daughters, who were dressed in a colourful APC ‘Aso Ebi’, mounted the podium to address the crowd.

The women campaign delegation also had the National Coordinator of the team, Dr. Asabe Bashir, and her deputy, Lauretta Onochie, who was recently nominated as chairman of the board of the Niger-Delta Development Commission.

On arrival in Katsina, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir, Dr. Abdulmuminu Kabir-Usmanand, and the state governor, Aminu Masari.
