The Bees produced a fantastic performance to leave the Emirates with a point as the match ended in a 1-1 draw to dent the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes.

The game was largely overshadowed by Ivan Toney’s controversial equaliser, though, which was only awarded due to a human error from VAR official Lee Mason.

PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) was forced to apologise to Arsenal the following day but Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said he would only be satisfied if his side were given two points back.

Frank appears to be irked by those remarks, feeling his team deservedly picked up a point and even argued that Brentford were unlucky not to win the match.

The Danish boss also pointed to a different ‘human error’ that ‘nobody is talking about’.

Quizzed about Toney’s controversial goal on Saturday, Frank said: ‘It has massively overshadowed our performance.

‘We were more than good enough for a point and if there could have been a winner, it should have been us.

‘Nobody is talking about the Bryan Mbeumo situation where he scores (in the first half and the goal was disallowed for a shirt pull), which was also a human error.’

Arsenal had 70 per cent possession in the 1-1 draw and registered seven shots on target compared to Brentford’s two.

The Gunners, who have not finished in the top four since 2015-16 and are looking to win their first title since 2004, hosted title rivals Manchester City four days later and were beaten 3-1 what was yet another blow.

The north London side have now failed to pick up a victory in their last three top-flight matches and next face Aston Villa as they look to return to winning ways.
