A man identified as Bem Matthew of Korinya-City, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, has been arrested by the police for stabbing his wife to death.
Newspot learnt that the man perpetrated the act around 7:03 am on Tuesday.
Neighbors stormed the scene of the incident and apprehended the suspect while the deceased’s body was taken to the mortuary.
The suspect was eventually arrested by men of the Konshisha Divisional Police Station.
Responding to questions at the police station, the suspect confessed that he stabbed his wife to death because she was no longer “submissive to him”.
An eyewitness, who spoke on the condition of anonmity, said the deceased was stabbed on the rib, back and thigh.
Newspot gathered that the union between the man and his wife was blessed with four children.
The remains of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary of Saint Joseph’s Clinic and Maternity, Korinya City .
Efforts to get the reaction of the Benue State Police Command were not successful as the spokesperson, SP Catherine Anekwe, could not be reached for comments.
