The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has hailed the emergence of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) as the new Senate Majority Leader.
Aribasoye, in a statement on Thursday, described Senator Bamidele’s choice as the number three man in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly as a “fitting glory for all sons and daughters of Ekiti.”
The Speaker expressed delight that the famed Ekiti virtues of integrity, honour, honesty and hard work, which Senator Bamidele represent, have been recognized by his party and colleagues in arriving at his choice.
He noted that Bamidele deserved the exalted position based on his track record, pedigree, cognate legislative experience, humility, man management and excellent leadership qualities.
He noted that his rise to the post of Senate Majority Leader has given Ekiti a voice in the top echelon of decision-making in Nigeria in the present dispensation, especially in the legislative arm.
The Speaker urged Bamidele to use his position to rally fellow Senators to support President Bola Tinubu to realize his Renewed Hope agenda by making good laws and performing oversight functions.
He prayed God to grant him wisdom, knowledge, understanding and sound health to discharge the responsibilities attached to the new office to which he has just ascended.
