The reappointment letters were presented to committee members on Friday by the chairman, Benjamin Omale, at the APC state secretariat in Makurdi.

Signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola, the letters reaffirmed the committee’s mandate to oversee party affairs in the state for the extended period.

Reacting to the development, Omale expressed gratitude to the APC national leadership for its efforts in stabilizing the party in Benue. He noted that the NWC had intervened in the state’s internal crisis by involving Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and Governor Hyacinth Alia, who subsequently nominated the seven-man caretaker committee.

Omale also criticised former state chairman Austin Agada for allegedly continuing to act as the party’s leader in the state despite the committee’s formation. He cautioned Agada against imposing himself as the APC chairman in Benue, warning that such actions would have consequences.

“The APC under Governor Alia has been delivering on its mandate through infrastructural development, regular payment of salaries and pensions, among other achievements. Any attempt by individuals or groups to destabilize his administration will not be tolerated,” Omale stated.

The reappointment ceremony, which took place a week after the committee’s initial tenure expired, was attended by key party stakeholders.
