Prospective candidates desirous of sitting the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)/ Direct Entry (DE) have been assured of a seamless and intellectual-enriching exercise.

This assurance was given by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Sunday, 21st January, 2024, while speaking on the ongoing 2024 UTME/DE registration exercise, on an X space (formerly known as Twitter) hosted by The Town Hall Ng.

The JAMB PCA disclosed that the admission regulatory agency has set necessary machinery in motion for a stress-free 2024 UTME through the deployment of professional personnel and state-of-the-art technology. He highlighted various steps the Board had taken to make the process seamless for candidates, particularly in terms of cost reduction through sustaining its signature three thousand, five hundred naira (₦3,500) registration fee; the supply of its reading text “The Life Changer” free of charge as against the previous fee of five hundred naira (₦500);  the slashing of centre fee charged by accredited CBT centres from three thousand naira (₦3,000) to one thousand, five hundred naira (₦1,500); among others.

Dr. Benjamin also stressed the robustness of the Board’s database, which he described as foolproof. He, therefore, charged candidates to concentrate on their studies rather than patronising unscrupulous tutorial centres, who are out to swindle them  through fake promises of live questions, score upgrade, underhand admissions, and so on. While responding to questions from candidates, parents and other stakeholders, the Board’s spokesman reiterated that candidates should endeavour to effect all necessary changes on their biodata through the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC) platform before registering for the Board’s examination as their details are pulled directly from the Commission’s database, hence, any uncorrected mistakes, especially with regard to e-mail address, phone number, date of birth, state of origin, local government and many more, cannot be changed on the JAMB portal once registered.
