Adamawa police arrest two suspected kidnappers in Yola South, Demsa

Operatives from the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Ngurore Forest and Gborom Mountain, located in Yola South and Demsa Local Government Areas.
Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrests in a statement released in Yola on Friday, noting that the operation was carried out with the assistance of local hunters. The arrest followed credible intelligence regarding the suspects’ hideouts in the area.

According to Nguroje, the criminals opened fire on the police upon noticing their presence, leading to a gunfight. This exchange resulted in the capture of two suspects, identified as Mohammed and Halilu Mohammed.

Nguroje further revealed that other gang members managed to escape with suspected gunshot wounds, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.

During the operation, authorities seized several weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, 66 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a pump-action rifle, a Dane gun, and various charms.

The Commissioner of Police praised the successful operation and reassured the public of the police command’s dedication to combatting crime. He urged residents, particularly those in Yola South and Demsa, to report any individuals seen with suspicious injuries to assist in ongoing investigations.
