A young man In Benin City, Edo State (Nigeria), has allegedly stabbed his lover to death.
The suspect, Victor Ifakachukwu, was caught and hospitalized after suffering significant injuries in what appeared to be a lethal knife attack at his residence.
The event took place at Osahon Street, Ogheghe Quarters, off Sapele Road in Benin City.
When the violence erupted, the couple was alleged to have barricaded themselves inside their home.
It was also learned that his landlord, Mr. Emmanuel Momoh, reported the event to the police about 4 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Two blood-stained knives, a laptop, two iPhones, and a Nokia phone were found in the residence by police.

The suspect is being intensively monitored at an unnamed hospital in the hopes that he will be able to answer for his crime once he regains consciousness.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the event to the Nigerian Tribune and stated a full-scale investigation had begun.
The PPRO stated that investigators would investigate what happened between the two lovebirds.
Meanwhile, some security workers who assisted in the removal of the girl’s body stated that no part of the deceased was missing.
“When we arrived at the house, Omo, blood was flowing like water; I believe they began stabbing themselves when they got into a fight.”
