The wife, children and grandchildren of the late Bishop Rufus Morakinyo Okeremi will on Sunday 17 March 2024 hold a Thanksgiving Memorial Eucharistic Service for him at St Annes Anglican Church Molete Ibadan to Mark his one year of passing on to glory.. The service starts at 7 am.
He died in the early hours of Friday 17 March 2023 at ALPHABETA MEDICS. and. HEALTHCARE CENTER in Ibadan
A tribute from his wife, children and grandchildren reads: “One year ago you answered the ultimate call of your creator and joined the saints triumphant,now sitting at the right hand of God.While you were with us, you gave us your all.You were very present in all our lives and we all wondered what the world would be without you.We thank God for upholding us through this past year, as He always has.We thank God for your legacies,too several to mention, much more we thank Him for making you a gift to the world and we remain proud to be your descendants and promise to uphold your values and the faith which you bequeathed unto us We miss you every moment and everyday ”
Okeremi was the First bishop of Anglican Diocese of Ife East of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion in Modakeke . The Diocese was inaugurated on 28 May 2008 by the former Primate of All Nigeria Peter Jasper Akinola.
The late Bishop Okeremi retired in 2010 and was succeeded by Bishop Oluseyi Oyelade on 16 April 2010.
