The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for what she described as the successful conduct of the party’s House of Representatives primary election in the state.
Lady Ekomaru made the remarks on Saturday during the APC primary election held at Polling Unit 10, Umunoha/Azara Ward in Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
The deputy governor praised the large turnout of party members, describing it as a reflection of growing confidence in the APC and the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
According to her, the achievements recorded by the Uzodimma administration across Imo State have strengthened public trust in the party.
She said the peaceful conduct of the primary election further demonstrated the level of organisation and direction provided by the APC leadership in the state.
“Governor Hope Uzodimma’s visionary leadership has made Imolites and Ndi Igbo at large to have confidence in the All Progressives Congress,” she stated.
Lady Ekomaru also praised the lawmaker representing Mbaike Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi, saying his performance in office justified the party’s decision to support his return for a second term.
“The reward for good performance is more work,” she added.
She urged party faithful to remain united and committed to the APC ahead of future elections.
Speaking earlier, the husband of the deputy governor, Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN, called on party members to maintain peace and avoid actions capable of disrupting public order during the electoral process.
He also expressed satisfaction with the turnout recorded during the primary election.
The APC primary election in Umunoha/Azara Ward reportedly ended peacefully, with party leaders describing the exercise as successful and orderly.
