The Mushin Local Government Chairman, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe has been drawn to a misleading and politically motivated statement circulated by the so-called “Fayinka Beyond 2027 Campaign” group alleging that the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, alongside some political stakeholders, directed the closure of markets and businesses during the APC primaries in Mushin.
We categorically state that this claim is false, baseless, misleading and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and create unnecessary tension within our peaceful local government.
At no time did the Executive Chairman, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, issue any directive ordering traders, artisans, transporters, or business owners to shut down their businesses for the purpose of participating in party activities.
Mushin Local Government remains committed to protecting lawful business activities and ensuring that residents go about their daily pursuits without intimidation, harassment, or political coercion.
It is important to note that the APC primaries are internal party affairs conducted in accordance with party guidelines, and participation remains voluntary and restricted to eligible party stakeholders where applicable.
The attempt by certain individuals to drag the name of the Executive Chairman and the Local Government into partisan propaganda should be condemned by all well-meaning members of the public.
We advise political groups and actors to refrain from spreading unverified information capable of causing disunity, panic, or unnecessary political hostility within Mushin Local Government.
Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe has consistently demonstrated responsible leadership, commitment to democratic values, and unwavering dedication to the peace, progress, and economic stability of our dear Local Government.
The public is therefore urged to disregard the false publication in its entirety and remain law-abiding as the democratic process continues peacefully.All Party members of All Progressive Congress (APC) should go out and perform their civic right to elect who is going to represent the party in Mushin Constituency 2 at the Green Chamber tomorrow and in other primary elections.
