Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, on Monday attended the Service of Songs and Night of Tributes held in honour of the late Chief Barrister Mathew Egwuenu, a retired Commissioner of Police and father of Arise TV anchor, Ojy Okpe.
The solemn event took place at Eko Hotels and Suites, drawing a distinguished gathering of political leaders, business figures, and media personalities from across the country.
Among dignitaries present were Uba Sani, Ademola Adeleke, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Chairman of United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu, and Chairman of Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena, among others.
The gathering served as a moment of reflection and tribute to the life and service of the late Egwuenu, whose career in the Nigeria Police Force and contributions to national security were widely acknowledged by attendees.
Governor Eno was accompanied by top members of his administration, including the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the President General of ARAISE with Renewed Hope, Engr. Uwem Okoko, the Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udoh.
The event featured tributes, prayers, and reflections celebrating the legacy of the late police chief, with speakers highlighting his dedication to service, discipline, and family values.
