The Rivers State Police Command has announced enhanced security measures across the state ahead of the Easter celebrations, assuring residents of a peaceful and secure festive period.
The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, disclosed that the Command has implemented comprehensive security arrangements, including the strategic deployment of personnel to churches, recreational centres, highways, motor parks, and other key locations.
According to the Command, Area Commands, tactical units, and divisional formations have been fully mobilized to prevent criminal activities and ensure rapid response to any security threats during the holiday period.
The police leadership reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents and visitors to remain vigilant and adhere to lawful conduct throughout the celebrations.
Members of the public were also encouraged to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information that could assist in maintaining public safety.
For emergency situations, the Command advised residents to contact its response units and control room through designated emergency lines for prompt intervention.
The Commissioner of Police further issued a strong warning to individuals with criminal intentions to desist, stressing that anyone found engaging in unlawful acts will be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
