Going to court could lead to expulsion – APC on Fubara Dagogo’s suspension

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has spoken about the indefinite suspension of a Rivers chieftain of the party, Fubara Dagogo.

Dagogo was suspended by APC executives in Ward 4, Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Speaking on Arise Television on Friday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said bypassing internal party conflict resolution mechanisms amounts to expulsion.

Recall that the APC in Rivers State suspended Dagogo over alleged anti-party activities.

Trouble started after Dagogo took legal action against the APC over its upcoming national convention.

He had said that he paid N5.1 million for the nomination form, claiming that the party refused to provide the required documents to formalize his candidacy.

Reacting to the development, Morka said, “Zoning elective offices is a practice we’ve grown accustomed to in our democracy.

“It’s a mechanism the party uses to ensure spread, inclusion and participation, preventing offices from being disproportionately concentrated in one area.

“The APC constitution is clear, when a dispute arises between an individual and the party, you’re required to exhaust internal reconciliation mechanisms.

“Going to court before exploring these mechanisms could lead to expulsion, not just suspension.”
