The initiative is designed to improve officers’ mobility, ensure timely school visits, and strengthen monitoring of teaching and learning activities, especially in remote and hard-to-reach communities across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, described the intervention as part of the Board’s deliberate efforts to deepen quality assurance and accountability in the basic education sector.

Dr. Adeniran stressed that effective monitoring remains a cornerstone for achieving improved learning outcomes in public schools, noting that the motorcycles would help reduce delays in school inspections, support data-driven decision-making, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

He also expressed appreciation to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for its sustained support and partnership with Oyo State, acknowledging the commission’s role in providing critical interventions that strengthen supervision and service delivery in basic education.

The OYOSUBEB Chairman cautioned beneficiaries to use the motorcycles strictly for official duties, reiterating the Board’s zero-tolerance stance on negligence. He emphasized the importance of regular school visits, accurate reporting, and prompt feedback to relevant departments.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Forum of Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Agbaje Adedeji, thanked the Board for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. He assured the management of the officers’ renewed commitment to improved performance and effective supervision.

The motorcycle distribution forms part of OYOSUBEB’s broader strategy to reposition basic education in Oyo State through strengthened supervision, infrastructure support, and ongoing institutional reforms.
