I cannot but immensely thank the Pro Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Her Excellency Ambassador Chief Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi for sharing the attached video this morning.
Earlier this morning too, my darling wife, the Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Dr Olubisi Fasuyi shared the same message contained in the interview with the former US President Barack Obama.
What is the common message in these two revelations?
It is the truth most of us have been finding difficult to confront everyday and over the years. I have written a couple of times on the same subject matter on our Ijesa platforms and I will never stop writing on it to keep reminding us all of our sacred responsibilities to Ijesaland.
We are very talented and exceptionally gifted in identifying and analyzing our socioeconomic problems and challenges.
Our ingenuity is not limited to the above alone but we are also blessed with uncommon capacity and intellectual endowment in many situations proferring excellent solutions to these identified socioeconomic challenges.
*But the truth is that all the colorful problem identification, analysis, and suggested solutions’ narratives do not change the problem status because only a very few participate in the most significant component of the cycle which is picking a role, no matter how little, in the execution of the proposed alternative solutions.*
Our sophisticated proposed solutions are meaningless and useless if as individuals we do not ask ourselves what role could I play in executing the lofty ideas on the ground but rather we push it to the government or imaginary third party readers to implement.
This approach has not only left us with the problems identified to get worse but the solution proferred to get rotten because nobody is pushing the transformation from idea postulation stage to idea implementation stage.
I therefore wish to plead once again that let us in Ijesaland convert our intellectual proficiency and know-how into declaring at the end of our beautiful write-ups on *HOW CAN I MR X OR Y PICK A ROLE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SOLUTION I HAVE PROPOSED!*
Where you need to bring more people on board, initiate the process and proceed. It is through this that we can be daily adding value to Ijesaland in particular and humanity in general.
A good opportunity to start with is the current insecurity challenge on our hands. A problem has been identified and we have an avalanche of solutions on ground already proposed. So, let’s move forward with your identification of your personal role in the solution implementation in Ijesaland.
This we anxiously await!
Otherwise nothing will change for the better but rather get worse. God forbid!
Obokun a gbe a O!
