Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the death of immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement on X, Omokri said Buhari served Nigeria in both peace and wartime.
According to him, Buhari left a legacy that was worthy of emulation in many areas.
“From God we came, and to Him we return. My family and I pray that Almighty God grants President Muhammadu Buhari al-Jannah firdaus. May his sins be forgiven, and may As-Sami, (The All-Hearing), grant his family the fortitude to bear their loss. He served Nigeria in peacetime and war and left a legacy that was worthy of emulation in many areas,” he wrote.
Newspot reports that Buhari’s death was confirmed by his former spokespersons, Garba Shehu and Bashir Ahmed, in separate statements on X on Sunday.
Following Buhari’s death, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to London to accompany the late president’s remains back to Nigeria.
