Kim Kardashian has reached a significant milestone in her journey to become a lawyer. After six years of intense study, the reality TV star and criminal justice advocate celebrated her law school graduation in a private ceremony with close family and friends.

Kardashian’s pursuit of a law career began in 2018, inspired by her advocacy for criminal justice reform, particularly her work with the First Step Act, signed into law by former President Donald Trump in 2018. Since then, Kardashian has worked relentlessly to earn her law degree, opting for an unconventional route by completing a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm rather than attending a traditional law school.

In a private ceremony attended by her children and close supporters, including attorney Jessica Jackson, who has mentored Kardashian throughout her studies, the 44-year-old was lauded for her perseverance. Jackson referred to Kardashian’s journey as “one of the most inspiring law school journeys we’ve ever seen.”

Kardashian’s dedication has also been recognized by others, such as CNN’s Van Jones, who praised her tireless efforts to bring attention to criminal justice reform. Jones noted that the reforms from the First Step Act, which have benefited over 40,000 federal inmates, are a testament to her passion for justice.

However, Kardashian’s legal journey has not been without challenges. In December 2021, after several attempts, she passed the “baby bar” exam — a crucial step for California law students. She has since passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), another requirement for the bar exam. While Kardashian has not yet revealed when she will attempt to pass the California bar exam, it is clear that her goal of becoming a full-time attorney is within reach.

Her inspiring journey has even led to her upcoming role as an attorney in the Hulu drama All’s Fair, which is set to premiere in August 2025.

Kim Kardashian’s path from reality TV to law advocacy is a story of determination and commitment, and it seems her legal aspirations are just getting started.
