The immediate past deputy governor of Plateau State, Prof. Sonni Tyoden is dead.
The sad development was confirmed to newsmen by the former governor of the state, Simon Lalong, on Sunday in Jos, the state capital.
The immediate past governor was at the residence of the deceased on Sunday to condole with the family.
He described his former deputy as a trusted political ally, who According to him, was a confidante, teacher, and mentor.
Lalong noted that the deceased former governor brought stability to the immediate past administration.
“He brought significant stability, wisdom, and experience to our government.
“He worked tirelessly to ensure that we had a successful eight-year tenure,” he said.
It was gathered that Tyoden died at the age of 74 after a brief illness on Sunday.
The former Plateau number two man, was a professor of political science and a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos.
