It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Benedette Okafor, a cherished mother, esteemed educationist, and retired headmistress, who left this world at the age of 75. Mrs. Okafor, a proud daughter of Nkanu West Local Government Area in Enugu East Senatorial District, Enugu State, South East Nigeria, dedicated her life to the education and development of countless students.
Her commitment to education and her passion for nurturing young minds made a lasting impact in her community. As a headmistress, she was not only a leader but also a mentor to many teachers and students alike. Her legacy of dedication to education will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Celestine Okafor, her beloved son and Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian NewsLeader newspaper, is currently in the process of making funeral arrangements, which will be announced following consultations with the paternal family.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Okafor family during this difficult time. May God grant them strength and comfort as they navigate through this loss. Mrs. Benedette Okafor will be greatly missed by her brothers, sisters, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her kindness and wisdom.
