The Bauchi State Police Command has revealed that it recorded 73 suspected cases of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in 2024.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, disclosed this during a media briefing at the command’s headquarters, where he reviewed the command’s activities in 2024.

Mohammed attributed the success of the investigations to critical information provided by members of the public, describing them as vital partners in the fight against crime.

“The Command has implemented crime prevention strategies that blend traditional methods with scientific approaches, including intelligence-driven policing,” he said. He added that these efforts have been strengthened through collaborations with sister security agencies and non-governmental organizations to address criminal activities in the state effectively.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to enhancing public trust while ensuring a safer and more secure Bauchi State.
